Do these states (NJ & FL) also have a specific approval process similar to NY & California to be able to apply for residency in those states? Does anyone know of an "approved school list" for NJ or for Florida?
Thanks a million! ....Susan

From what I know, NJ is very lenient with IMGs and a VERY friendly state for IMGs. The state has most of the best IMGs and licensing/clinicals are not too hard to obtain. No wonder I love living here :D :D :D

Florida has a lot of IMGs and FMGs.
Florida is strict on clinicals and you need to be approved before you can do any rotations. Licensure is not a problem.

Basically for Florida and New Jersey:

School needs to be approved for clinical rotations by NY/FL.
Residency can be done in both states.
Licensure can be achieved in both states.

if you went to school in Mexico and didnt meet THEIR requirements for 5th pathway (UG degree etc) they wont grant it. hypocrisy since they have VERY minimal standards if you did servicio social/Internado. I did a Downstate 5way 89-90 b/c I just didnt like Tampico. lost out on a good attending job near Sarasota. dang!

It sounds like you attended a university in Mexico and did your residency in the US. Is this correct? If so can you let me know the details of your experience.
