Thought I'd post this for anyone who missed it, sounds like we have more clinical advisors who will soon join our family. I heard that we were not allowed to visit Edison, NJ? Is it better to make an appointment or try to schedule stuff over the phone?:

Dear Ross Student:

Please read this bulletin carefully and either print and store, or keep in a place on your computer where you can refer to it at a later date.
After reading over these bulleted points, please read the bottom of the e-mail for further clarification.

The Clinical Sciences Department is expanding to better serve our students. We have recently hired a Clinical Advisor to replace **** **** added a new position of Clinical Coordinator, and plan to hire an additional Advisor in the next few months.
It is important that you CALL your advisor BEFORE coming in to the Edison office. Advisors are not obligated to meet with students who do not make appointments before coming in.
Any Clinical student who is scheduled for the June 15th graduation date is our priority. Please be patient during this time if the nature of your request is NOT an emergency.
Students completing a rotation with another one already set up - please be patient. We would like to ask your patience in contacting your Advisors (through voicemail and e-mail), requesting additional spots.
Faxing in a Step 1 Score ::: Please allow 5-7 days for a schedule before calling. Please remember that when you receive your Step 1 scores and you fax them in to the Registrar (***-***-****), that you need to give our Advisors 5-7 days before you begin calling. NEW CLINICAL ADVISOR
We will be sending out a new Clinical breakdown listing (by alphabet) as soon as we feel the new Advisors are fully trained and ready to begin taking a full volume of calls. This will take place over the next couple of months. We are really excited about our additional staff and look forward to being able to serve our students more effectively.
MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO SEE YOUR ADVISOR
Before coming in to the office, please call ahead and set up an appointment with your Advisor. This will help your Advisor to better prepare for your visit. They can print out all necessary paperwork ahead of time to shorten the length of your visit AND research any issues that you may need addressed. When you show up without calling, it totally disrupts everyone's day. Advisors have to go back and forth between you, the database and the files to get paperwork, which results in a waste of valuable time that could be spent helping other students who follow policy.
JUNE 15TH GRADUATION
One day each of you will be a candidate for graduation. When that time comes, we are certain that you will want our full attention. Students who are scheduled to graduate in the next six (6) weeks are concerned that their files and requirements are all in order. The Registrar and Clinical Departments are auditing all the files to ensure that all problems are resolved in a timely manner. We need you to work with us in this regard. If the nature of your issue is not a priority or a crisis, please allow the Advisors enough time to get the candidates for graduation situated. While we realize that each of you have needs, our primary concern at this moment is to ensure that every candidate for graduation has everything they need to walk on June 15th.
TELEPHONE CALLS AND E-MAILS FOR ROTATIONS
If you are calling regarding rotations for July, August, or later, please be patient. Right now we are feverishly trying to make schedules for students who have just passed Step 1 and are about to begin their first normal rotation. If you are completing a rotation and have another one already lined up, please do not keep calling or sending e-mails to set up additional rotations. We are aware of your needs and will address them as soon as possible.
WHEN YOU FAX IN A STEP 1 SCORE - PLEASE WAIT 5-7 DAYS FOR A SCHEDULE
If a schedule is ready before that time, you will receive it through e-mail. If you require any specific considerations, please fax those requests to **** ****AFTER you fax in your passing Step 1 score. No special requests will be considered before you pass your exam.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the above, please contact ***** ****** or ***** *******.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in these matters.
Regards,

So, after the departure of, as I hear, Ms. L, they are really only hiring ONE more advisor? Wow, what a huge step forward. One would think they would be hiring at least 3-4 more advisors...these guys are busy year-round, not just a particular time of season...as Ross students are schooling year-round and are constantly calling for rotations.

Nice to hear that they are finally getting a move on this particular area where they drastically seem to lack. I will be attending in September so hopefully in 2 yrs they will be in better shape then they are in now. Sorry for anyone who went through clincals having to deal with the annoyance of things.

I'm excited now to see what happens....

Nothing's gonna happen...don't get overly excited on any sort of Ross claim. They are adding one more advisor. The others are not the greatest people either, and the one that left was probably the worst of the bunch. Since they are not revamping their entire advisor staff, things will likely remain the same as they are now.

My feeling is that one additional advisor probably won't be enough considering the increased enrollment that has occurred in the past couple years. Don't know what to make of the clinical coordinator position. Hopefully it will unload some of the work that the clinical advisors have to do.

From reading this message it sounds like Ross is replacing one clinical advisor with a fully-trained advisor, a clinical coordinator who will perhaps get an eye on total number of pediatric rotation slots etc . . . and another clinical advisor later, I personally thought it was great that Ross at least let students know of the changes and to bear with them during this transition and that they are keenly aware of the problem and are trying to fix it, not that I haven't had my share of making multiple phone calls and emails, but it is nice that at least they are trying to change things. For all the complaining that we do it is nice to be able to easily get electives at least, which are usually high quality IMHO

Please.......like it will really make a huge difference. Its always been this way at ross. Ross is rely on self study. and it applies to more than just teaching youself medicine. It goes to everything else too, like getting your clinical schedule. You cannot depend on ross for anything. You gotta do it yourself. I highly doubt that any significant change will come of this.
