How you pay for the first semester?

Hi,
I have been going through the SGA website, and several old posts. I've noticed that as of a few years ago (quite possibly still today), med students at MUA were expected to pay for the first semester out of pocket, with the loans coming in late. This seems pretty damn harsh, and I'm pretty sure that not everyone in the program is wealthy, has a lenient credit card, or relies on mommy and daddy for money. My question, as someone interviewing for January 08, is how do you do it? How do you pay that first semester?

I am one of those people that use Mommy and a Daddy money. But I do know if you have a loan tell the school and they will wait until you get the loan in.

The loan is disbursed to the school who will deduct the tuition and wire txfer the rest to any bank of your choice in the united states.

Has anyone dealt with the TERI loan people? We have some hurricane Katrina related credit issues. My husband is staying stateside and working while I'm in school. Their website seems to say they'll loan for foreign undergrad. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who is working with them for premed.

as far as i know there is now way around it..they want their money, unless your willing to pay a late fee of $250..if they let you...call the office

no heres the deal..
i applied and got accepted for pre med 1 in jan 08 ! i also applied for teri loans and got accepted ! i only paid 750$ out of pocket to reserve my spot. the rest of the tuition is getting deducted fro the laon automatically.. and like TAARE said, they will transfer u the rest of the money to any bank u want.. '
best thing to do is when u get to the island open up a bank account and have them tranfer it there !!!

btw, after i wrote is messege i realized the dates of ur messeges which is pretty long ago.. so anyways thats the infoo lol
