Any sales? Hurricane gear?

Hi everyone!

Wow, I can't believe I am finally going to St. Maarten this Friday! I am excited/nervous! Okay so my question is this...so everyone always says: oh buy this from students leaving, buy that from students leaving...hmm...is it just me or does it seeem like there aren't that many students selling their stuff?!? Are they just not posting it up on this forum? Is there some date where there is a sale on-campus? If I am not able to buy hurricane gear (gas can, water container, battery operated lamp) from a leaving student, can someone tell me how much it is approx. just to buy it there new? Oh and how expensive is bug spray like RAID? Is it really that ridiculously expensive that I have to pack these things in my bag?

Plenty of bug spray, and its not expensive. Many students don't post here so there is always more for sale than whats posted here. Theres the 5th semester sale that occurs at the end of the semester. Since most 1st semesters stay in dorms, hurricane stuff isn't an issue yet. When you complete 1st and have to move out, you can check the 5th semester sale and get some good stuff. Other than that, people are always posting for sale lists around the school. All things are slightly more expensive here, just enough to keep you from paying shipping from somewhere else, except for EtOH. Im not kidding when I say alcohol is dirt cheap. Bottle of water ~2$, beer 1.00 :)

I have already looked at the Classifieds section. There really isn't much :( E-mailed like a gazillion students for their books but only 2 replied back. Seems like most students are leaving before I get there. I'm hoping I'll have more luck when I actually get to the island. :rolleyes:
