Saba's bookstore has some dissection kits online and blades, etc

SABA University - www.saba.edu - international medical university college (http://www.saba.edu/admissions_books.php)

Which should I order, how many orders of blades, etc.

Thanks guys

You don't need a dissection kit at all. There are lots of tools in the lab. Get a box of either #10 or #22 blades (it doesn't matter which, they fit different handles).

And you can do a LOT better than the prices at booksonline

Salutations "medschool22":

You definitely can get the blades elsewhere for cheaper. Universitybooksonline charges you a lot for shipping alone. Anyways, as "rdecastro" stated, there are plenty of tools in the anatomy lab for you to use. Ciao.

Fix for neuroscience, absolutely. Also a neuro atlas (used is just fine).

hey miasma,

here are the books I suggest for third

1. Snell for neuroanatomy (it's easy to read and test questions will come from the book). There is a PDF version of the book. just ask your mentor or check the 3rd semester computer.

2. FIX: the high yield and the BRS. The high yield is what the prof stresses in class and is a very easy read. Fix also writes the BRS, and use that for the questions. In fact, as I said in another thread, some of the comp questions at the end were similar to the shelf questions.

3. The epi book only for the questions at the end of the book. some will show up on the exam. your mentor will have scanned copies of the questions, but the answers may not be included. the book is at the library, so don't buy it, just check it out when you need it!

4. I liked the Immunology book by Nairn. It helped solidify the material for me. If you have never had Imuno before I would suggest getting the book. I'm sure people will be selling it the first week of class, so be on the lookout!

5. I read the genetics books but you don't need it. the powerpoints are enough. however, I found that when I read the book my block exam grades were higher! go figure!

6. Neuroanatomy atlas...there are also PDF copies of these books well...ask around, ask your mentor

7. Clinical Micro Made Simple...I loved this book and read it for every block. Buy it and keep it- you'll use it for step.

8. Lange Micro Flashcards...they are clinically orientated and have tons of information on them! They were perfect to carry around....I can't say enough good things about them!!

9. FIRST AID 2007 for micro and shelf reviews. ICS sells the 2007 version. this will be your best friend from now on....

hope that helps. PM me if ya need any notes or PDF's

heh, i try.
honestly though, i remember you guys said that we should order blades from ebay...and i did...i got frigging 500 blades in a small cardboard box! lol
then i realized that dissecting isnt really my thing...this was later confirmed when i ripped out the medial pterygoid by hand, and saw Dr. Samuel laughing like there is no tomorrow.
its ok though, the blunt sides of the blades are good for tightening the loose screw on my glasses...

so what's a good place to buy scrubs online? (preferably a place that takes amex)
