I have a question for those who have been on the island for a while. Is there any place to rent/buy DVDs around here?

There's a little (let me emphasize little) store right next to Campus Village at BB's (a little bar/grill shack) that rents out mostly pirated/bootleg DVDs. There's also a place out in Simpson Bay and P-Burg in the same complex as Grande Marche I believe.
But the best bet is to trade around with your friends, download them from the net, use something like tv-links.co.uk or load up at Best Buy whenever you're in the states.

Before someone brings it up, remember: You may not trade porn on VMD, thank you for your cooperation.

No, I wasn't stealing it. I was thinking of you and pre-emptively forbidding you to trade your homemade DVDs here like you're trying to do in the relaxing lounge.

What if you trade it in person? Are latex gloves recommended?

There were some people that sold bootleg DVDs (some of movies still in theaters!) in front of the Cost-U-Less; Cost-U-Less would also sell legit DVDs occassionaly. Amazon (or some other online retailer) is what I used for the majority of my 75 or so DVDs bought during island time.

I loved it when those guys were out there. Most of them were the quality stuff you'd find and spend a long time downloading from the net.

I believe the current movie guy uses Netfilx along with his mailbox account. Pretty nifty combo there.
