This question is kinda random, but does anyone know if there are private airplanes on the island of grenada available to rent?

any airplane can be rented for the right price. Go talk to a travel agent or someone at the airport.

To fly yourself, or to charter?
SVGAir (http://www.svgair.com/) does the latter...

To fly myself. I have my pilots liscense. Has anyone ever seen small single engine airplanes at the airport or flying around the island?

I saw more in Vinnies than Grenada. But I thought most were privately owned but of course I did not look into it :)

I do not seem to recall seeing any single engine planes down there...it was mostly an occasional private jet coming and going. There may have been some in svg though -- definitely in trindad. I am just starting to learn to fly myself, and realize that it would have been a great place to do so.

There is also a private aiport on the East Coast that may have planes for hire (I can't see to find the name).
Here's another link to aiport/travel info:

um, you don't mean Pearls airport do you? I don't think it's functional for anything but cattle and buses.

here's a picture of the runway...

But it may be a bit dated.

Because there is a svg based charter flight company that happens to fly to gnd. The picture provided in the link is of an alternate runway in gnd.

Seriously though, watch out for cattle and buses if you ever need to use this strip.
The 2 planes barely visible are pretty cool photo-ops though since they are from the 'communist regime' which led Grenada politics for a short time. They are very rusted and stripped for parts but you can go inside them to look around. One has a faintly visible CCCP on the tail. The other is Cuban.
