...how does it work if you live in the dorms as far as laundry and food. Are the dorm rooms equipped with a kitchen washer/dryer or do you have to go to certain places on campus to take care of those sorts of things? Also, are there any poisonous snakes/spiders/bugs I need to be aware of?

I heard that there is no room at Potworks this year, so everyone is at Rawlins. From what I hear Rawlins has your standard dorm room (desk, bed, mini-fridge) so no kitchen to cook in. Some ppl bring a hotplate or george foreman grill, but I'm planning on getting a meal plan from the school. As for laundry there at facilities at the dorm, 10 EC's a load from what I read. Not sure about the snakes and bugs though!

cool. I'll be leaving behind bugs, snakes, alligators, and armadillos for...bugs. An improvement! Are the dorms available after the first semester, or does one not want to live in them if one can help it?

I heard something about "Donkey Spiders". Are there any of them on campus?

Here are pics of the "donkey spider" I mentioned earlier. I think you would agree it's not such a small bug.

laundry is right in the dorm area..I don't know how much it costs, but there are a few ladies regularly come to dorm and pick up your laundry, wash, and bring it back for a nominal fee...I used that service exclusively when I lived in dorms, I liked it very much. She also folds your clothes...but I've remembered now, she does not wash underwares...
I heard that there are no snakes in the Island. There are certainly spiders and bugs, but common, it is a tropical island here. What else do you expect? Nothing serious happens, belive me.
Good luck..

these pics don't tell me anything....you need to put a ruler by the specimen-spider in this case to give the dimensions of it. haha...this is how we do in med school:p
otherwise;what does constitute big? ask anybody, you'll get a different answer ;).
