What is the PD kit referring to in the financial aid request form? The Medical Kit?

yes. most people get it, but i think it is a waste of what $700?
i just bought a cheap kit from any online medical supply store for about $200. it has everything you need mostly.
all you need really is an opthamalscope,otoscope, reflex hammer, penlight, tuning fork, stethoscope, and a BP cuff. no way i am going to cough up $700 for those supplies consider i have more than half of those stuff already and most of the stuff you can find online for less than what they offered

you dont need the kit really until 4th term. the only thing you may need in term 1-2 is a stethoscope, and even that you probably only use it once/term. no big dea if you dont have one as the school does supply them during lab exercises. but i think the lab that needs stethoscope on physio in term 2 has been taken out of the curriculum as of this term.

Yeah you just need that stuff for 4th term and 5th/6th term. once you start clinical rotations the hospitals will provide you with everything but a stethoscope. Also as long as one person in your group has a kit that's all you need. I just bought a good stethoscope since that's all i'll need during the clinical rotations.

my bro got me a littman cardiology III stethoscope (engraved with my name on it!). little did i i know, it's the same one on the list! how cool!

you will need the kit for lab exams during 4th term and when you do your hospital visits during 5/6th term, but most of the time in the hospital they already have the stuff, so not too much worry there. but it would be a hassle if there is only 1 kit in your group and on quiz/exam day for advanced clinical skills all the group members are schedule to take the pratical on the same day

If no one has a kit I you can't do the labs, so I am sure you would get some kind of point deduction. Remember that ACS during 4th and 5th/6th terms is a 4 credit course, if you don't have the proper supplies they will not let you participate and you will lose points. Just like if you go into anatomy lab without a lab coat or scrubs, they will ask you to leave and you'll lose those lab points for that day. The school doesn't have extra PD kits so they can't simply provide them for you if you don't have them.

I am pretty sure they only include the money for you to buy the pd kit yourself. there's a guy that comes on campus every term that sells them people order the kits from him, and those get shipped to your house, or you can have them shipped to your school mailbox.
