Does anyone have the 2001 and 2002 NBME released questions and is it true that they are still in the pool of USMLE bank? Can anyone send me a copy or post it here? Thanks.........

it is a self assessment program offered by the NBME...

you may purchase the practice tests through them

http://www.nbme.org/programs/sas.asp

the tests are done online..

You can also find some NBME retired questions available in the free download area.

I just met with the NMBE folks and they made it quite clear that they do not release questions that are active; that is used but still in the bank.

I was informed before that those cd's that those questions they send with the cd for practice when you apply for step are still in the bank and usually test takers see three questions in their exams out of those. Is that correct? please clarify..... thanks again.............

there are often questions you see that are very similar to what you even get on the little practice CD that comes with signing up. but if youre counting on 3 or 4 questions to pass, you've got bigger problems. What you need to do is 1000's of questions no preferably from source that simulate the exam. but many people advert NBME questions that aren't at all or are in an old retired style; they're still good for practice, but you are not going to get questions from active banks released. Period. However try www.nbme.org/sas and check out those questions that probably most simulate questions as they currently stand- this has a $45 fee attached to it however.
