3rd semester is tough to buy books for, because alot of the books you purchase will be used for both 3rd and 4th semesters. It's possible that a book you don't use 3rd will be much needed in 4th. I can tell you that the must have books for 3rd is Robins Review of Pathology and Fadem (for psych).
In the beggining I had time to read Robins medium for path, but things got tighter as semester progressed.
Pharm, I bought 2 books, but havent really opened them much.
Micro, same deal.. If Dr. P is teaching again, her notes are more than adequate to do well in the class.
Thats just my take, I thought purchasing books was much more difficult for 3rd semester than others.

a 3rd semester student told me... all you need for 3rd sem book is the "big" robin book for path, and BRS for pysch. and THAT'S IT!!
anything else will be wasted of money, because tests will base on the power point... if you need any books for 4th..just get it then.
i also heard that on smuonline... you can access to all textbooks online.... so technically you don't need to buy books.

Big Robbins is a good book for research or looking up certain facts. But honestly, at least in my opinion, the reading was well over my head and way more than is needed to pass the course. Anyone else agree?

I kept up in big Robbins for the first two tests, and after that it was WAAY too much. It's definitely overkill for Basic Science Path.

I remember when I took Path back in the day in Maine, we all got by by using Baby Robbins. The few of us that had Big Robbins, ended up not using it much and relied primarily on Baby Robbins.
