buying return ticket for August

If the last day of the May semester is Aug 17. When do students generally leave to return home? do most leave the night of the 17th or wait a couple of days after. I want to buy round trip tickets because they are cheaper and i am trying to decide..thanks!

Generally 1st semester finals are on thursday, when you're done you can leave if you want. You will probably have to move into your place, etc.
