I have been on Saba (unfortunately :p) since January. I know many of you are wondering how we live here, so here are some pictures that I have from the Island. Remember, don’t judge the book by its cover!

Unique Store in Windwardside. The stores in Winwardside are much more extensive than My Store which is in the bottom (near the school and dorms). They all deliver for free.

You have to walk down a small hill to get to school from Hillside dorms.

Library enterance. You get free wirless internet weekdays from 4pm to 8am. And all days weekends. If library is closed, you can sit on those chairs to gain access.

This is a nice place to hangout, its called Scouts and its in Winwardside. They have karoke once in a while.

This is the Saba beach. You get beach only limited time. Its very close to the campus. You have to go down a very steep hill to get to the beach. Just watch you dont get messed up by the waves :p I had to learn the hard way ;)

Hillside dorm common area. You get: big fridge, couch, satalite tv., toaster, microwave, kettle, eating utensils, plates....NO stove..

I couldn't find a thread for this, but how far (in km or mi) is it from Windwardside to The Bottom? It's hard to tell from the maps. Can it be walked safely? Thanks

not to blow up your spot, but if you are so smart, then you should have gone to a U.S./Cdn med school, and not be a reject to attend Carib meds.
And by the way, our class is doing just fine; just because some people are unsuccessful, doesnt mean that you label the whole class as some next level losers.
Its quite annoying to see upper semesters thinking of themselves as some super natural human beings (some of you are really cool and I respect that), but many of you need to back off a bit, and cut down on the whole voluntary 'advising' and 'you should do this' business.

Instead of being ignorant and posting such GENERALIZED negative comments, why dont you first know those 10-15 people and then marginalize them!?
Even then, its a waste of time, because in reality, you will have nothing to do with our class. You have your own life, we have our own agendas.
So, I clearly do not understand what you mean by, 'your whole class has a bad rep business.' If you have that much time to spread this type of negativity, then you are better off partying yourself and utilizing that time in a productive manner. :-D

most of the upper semester arent really our seniors anyways. were gonna be the last ones matching for 2010, the same match as 2nd and 3rd semesters and also any 4th semesters who wanted more time to study or failed.

also its real classy of you to take pics of people in bathrooms and on roofs with your cellphone cameras. better to be known as the one on the roof than the voyeuristic perv taking the pictures.

Dear moderator,

psychmajor is my roommate, and obviously there are no formalities between us (such as saying thanks on an online forum :rolleyes:). But still, its good to see those pictures again.

As for going off topic, its a very important issue that is facing our class. And I, along with every one of our classmates are responsible for trying to set things straight. Thats all.

I am happy many of you like the pictures. I will post these and even more pictures in the Saba album.

In terms of the other situation, please don't generalize in expense of a few. We all have our goals, and so do you. Just focus on yours and you will be fine.

Please treat this forum ONLY as a place for new students to get some information before coming down here. For many (I know that I was one of them) valueMD is the only place to decide whether to come down to Saba to study medicine. Don't ruin it for others.

Such discussions between students of the school can easily be made here on Saba....that way any confusion/misunderstanding can be easily cleared.

I am very impressed with my class, good job to all for a great semester.
