I noticed on the website that are a a number of student associations at Saba for Muslims, Hindus, Christians, etc. Is there an LDS student association? Heck, are there any LDS students there? (If you don't know what it stands for, you probably aren't one:)

No I'm not one, but I know what it means. There have been LDS students here before, but AFAIK there isn't an active group right now. You can always start one!

I know of one family who is LDS and about 10-15 people attend services on Sunday. That's what I hear though. I haven't been to the island yet.

That's good to know, thanks. I was worried that if I'm accepted, I'll have to hop a flight to st maarten occasionally to go to services. I'm impressed with what the school has to offer, so it would be worth it. If I'm accepted, I'll post and see what I can get going. Thanks again! BTW, no offence intended by the sarcasm, where I live I usually have to give a long explanation.

There are a few LDS students here. Not sure what they do but I know that they meet every week. If you get accepted you can PM me and I can put you in touch with them.

I think LDS here are considered Muslims. At least I see them praying together several times each day.

 That's a new comparison. Usually we're accused of being Amish. Good people in both groups. We do pray a lot compared to most Christians, I think. I'm a musician and have had the opportunity to play for the services of many different faiths. The full church name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Guess why we abbreviate?! I'm just relieved that I may not need to allow funds to visit the congregation in St. Martin. I received my application pkt today and already have several LORs lined up. I'm not applying anywhere else, but that's a different thread.
I'm an organist. Does anyone know if any of the local churches have pipe organs? (or electronic...I'm not picky)

Yes, there are LDS on Saba. My wife and I have been here for 15 months and thought there weren't any other members of our church before we arrived. There have been and are around 15 members that meet every week in our house. The church has approved the formation of a branch and that is in process as we speak. If you have any questions . . . feel free to contact me via email: dlesher at gmail dot com.
