match season came and gone, today people found out where they matched

anyway unless they transferred into clinicals, i don't think the school is old enough yet to have grads or anyone in the match...the school was founded in 2004

...but our next developmental milestone will be a few students preparing for residency end of this year for 2008 match.

As posted before we are 2/2 pass on Step 2, with one more testing soon.

Yeah! but it is not just important to simply pass USMLE, it is also important to get a good score..... you must see saba students excelling with 270's and 260's in first try usmle step one!!! so, what are the students' scores in usmle who passed?

Very few people earn scores above 250 from US schools and from island schools. I am not saying it can't happen - it does. Maybe one or two people score above 250 at each school a year.

Many people add extra forum points to their scores. Could be an ego defense. Unless they scan in the score and print it untouched by photoshop - just say that's great and go your own way.

I didnot find step one scores on valuemd forum. visit saba's official website, they were congratulating students with their names and their score announcement dates. I believe in my own research! not hear and say....

I know people with passing scores as low as upper 75-79 all the way to lower 90's for the two digit score.

One student took Step 1 yesterday, who scored 240 on the NBME practice exam.

I can find out three digit scores later, next week is our finals week so we are all a little busy preparing for our shelf (NBME) exams.

I do agree that it is hard to believe the majority of kids at one school, who most likely could not get into an American medical school, scoring in the range that is posted on the USMLE's site as "unheard of...above 259."

Thanks for the Saba's site information, we are all sure it is a good school, especially with its approval from California and the great site report it recieved.

While it is important to understand the information that's being disseminated here - this is what I have found. On SABA's website - there are three students in total mentioned. While I am not taking away the accomplishments of these students (as they have done EXTREMELY well) its important to note that not ALL students (from any one school) will score that high. Yes, they have done well - and I congratulate both SABA and the students on their scores - but they are a MUCH larger school than IAU. Our students have also achieved and done well - and isn't the end goal here to achieve and become a doctor? I certainly think so.

1 out of 240ish students is about right for a high 262 Step 1 score. If you use the average and standard deviation given - it is probable every year at least one student in a class of 240 will score in the 250-260 range. What you want to look at is the average score per year for a class as a better indicator. About half will be above or below that score. If the school's average score is above the national average then the school is doing something right. The school's average step 1 score is something most schools do not publish or tell potential students.
