Hey has everyone gotten their stuff together for thegraduation. I'm still having problems with LArkin sending in my las 2 evaluations, even though I personally got the eval forms filled out and gave it to the larkin edu office.
I don't know what to do. Anyone else in the same situation??

What evaluations are you talking about? Did you get your diploma or register for graduation as of yet? You need to fill out some form from the ross.edu website and fax that over before a stated deadline to make the graduation for that date...i believe there are 3 graduations offered per year. You can demand your diploma prior to your walking on graduation day. That way, you won't even need to waste time and money at the ceremony seeing the old fools that you once saw on the island of greedy idiots. Besides, NYC is expensive as hell...they'll charge you and your family members about $35 bucks per day just to park the damn car. Then, to go to dinner afterwards, the bill will be around $800 for yourself and your friends (which includes food, beverages, which shall be plentiful since you've just graduated and wish to celebrate with the blessings of EtOH, taxes, which are enormous in NY state, and tips which are overinflated in the US). Then, a hotel room will be 150 at some mom&pop joint, or 200+/night at a decent place...which would be more acceptable (but EXPENSIVE!) considering it IS your graduation...plus another night of parking. Then breakfast again the next morning on your way out. Plus a few NYC cop parking tickets, etc etc...overall it adds up to over another grand just to walk amongst 500 other graduates, whence you wont even be recognized by anyone besides your few family members. Good luck.

of coures if you have never been in New York it may be a great time to come and see the sights. take in a Broadway show etc before you start ypur gruelling residency period. New York is a great place for tourists. I work there myself.
I've signed up for graduation, got all my evals in. Had some degree audit done where I had to explain my time off from Miami to clinicals (step 1?).
I've heard that nearly 700 people will be graduating by May and seats are definitely limited. So I'm not sure I wanna take the time, effort or expense to travel up to NYC for a 3-4 hour ceremony just to hear Dr F or some other professor speak.

While Ross can use improvement in many areas, the graduation ceremony is not one.
The ceremony is first-rate and a very classy production. Could not have been any better. It was nice to actually have a ceremony after all the ** we put up with. I highly recommend you guys go. The parents all loved it too.

It seems a little confusing how did you graduate already if you just matched according to your posting on the Match thread

Uhh, why is that so confusing to you? Maybe he went to a graduation ceremony of a friend/family member in the past, or he walked last year and is matching this year.
Oh, and by the way, I HAVE been to NY, I grew up there. So, naturally all that I have written in my post above is all from experience...you WILL be "legally robbed" in NYC if you go there for anything (graduation ceremony, vacation, bachelor party, etc)

I graduated last year. Thanks to Ross not being able to give me peds and ob-gyn until Novermber of senior year, i didn't take Step 2 CS and Ck until late Noverber and got my scores in late december...way too late to get many interviews and didn't matched. This year I got a ton of interviews and matched.

I'm going to New York for graduation. Never been there so I'm treating it like a vacation.
I need extra graduation tickets and I'm willing to pay for them. If you're not planning on going or have extra tickets, please private message me and I'll pay handsomely.
Thank you

I went to NYC for vacation before and it was totally worth the money. The subway was cheap. I took subway and went to every single place that I wanted to go. If I could add my doctor graduation ceremony in my vacation, it'd be the happiest vacation ever. The same go for my parents, they'll attend my graduation ceremony during their 1st NYC vacation.

for those of you going to New York and interested in seeing a Broadway show there is a place at time square called Tickets which gets all the unsold tickets for the performance and sells them for half price or at ahugh discount. Can't usually get the top runnings show but you may be pleasantly surprised at what you will get. Not sure what time it opens but get there early.

Well that really wasn't fair but maybe by not taking the test like my son did before he finished all his CORES due the Clinical Department Scheduling you were able to acheive a better grasde than you would have. Hopefully this is now helping you when you find out where you will be doing your residency.

Can the degree audit be done now or does it have to wait until our last rotation?
I finished up in Februrary, so I've been officially done with school for 2 weeks now. Enjoying my time off, stressing over the match results and planning for a backpacking trip through part of europe.

Who did you have to explain this time off to? Is it for a state licensure??? Can you please elaborate on it....

Well I had to explain my time off too. Its in the degree audit they send u. I'm not sure what the reason is...I believe its for graduation purposes.
So I have a question for u guys.....I have to start the orientation process for residency at the program I matched on June 18th. Since Grad is on 15th. do u think its worth the hassle to go to NY for 2 days to walk and then be back in time to Florida to start residency???

Did you take more than 4 weeks off besides the gap between AICM and rotations? Did you hear anything about some new law passed last month, about all cores having to be ACGME for FL licensure?

The reason they may have not said anything....because a license is not required during residency training in the state of FL. Although the program must inform the Florida Board of Medicine by sending in the unlicensed physician form.
Anyone knows anything more?
