Gym in Miami?

Any gyms close by, in the 7000 building area?? Will we be able to get access to the gym at the Univ. of Miami? I can live w/out cable, but not without working out!!

There is a fitness center/gym at the Sunset Plaza Mall area. I forgot what is was called, but Sunset Mall is only a few streets from the 7000 building. If you drive there from 7000 building, it will take less than 5 minutes, if you walk, it may take you several minutes depending on how fast you walk. Just be careful crossing the streets in South Miami, cause drivers don't seem to yield to pedestrians.

to answer your question, there is no free gym, i couldnt find any. but there are several chains, good luck.

oh ya, the valencia apts do have a gym but i dont know how extensive it is i didnt live there

There is LA Fitness in Sunset Place which is an awesome gym with bball, a ton of weights, and great cardio. The only prob is that its expensive but its worth it.

There is a gold's gym near the airport with month to month no contract at around $40/mo.

But not all gold's has it. Walk into one and ask if they have month to month, no contract. If they ask you to sign something first, doesn't matter what it is, turn around and walk out immediately.

There's a Bally's on Coral Way. Takes about 10min driving from the 7000bldg

I found it very amusing that in Miami gyms 99% of the people in the free weight area do not re-rack their weights when they're done. Must be a cultural thing....
