When taught in the Romanian language, they have medical schools that produce just as proficient doctors as anywhere else.
When taught in English, they are said to be very corrupt (bribes, etc.) and not very well-regarded within the country or an surrounding countries. If you speak Romanian, then going to school in Bucharest would probably be your best bet. If you don't speak Romanian, and really want to go to school in Europe, go to the Czech Republic, Hungary, or Poland. Romania should be quite far down on your list. I'd personally go to the U. of Zagreb in Croatia before Romania; there new program looks more promising, and has less bad press (granted, though, it's too young to garner much attention at this juncture).
What is your nationality and where do you want to practice?

I was once considering European schools, actually particualary Poland but decided against it. There is European law that you can only do a maximum of 12 weeks of "internship" out of the country you study in, which is usually when students try to complete a rotation in the US. This severely hinders you when it comes time for licensure because many states have tough requirements. If I were you, I'd go the Caribbean route.

I've never heard of this 12 week rule, and I certainly did more than 12 wks back in N.America, as did most of my colleagues.

I'd try and steer you away from Romania altogether, though. Those residents are most likely graduates of the Romanian language program, not the English one.
