Step 2 CK/CS queries

Hey guys,

I am currently doing my 3rd yr rotations in NY and need to schedule the Step 2CK and CS. I will be applying for the 2008 match and was wondering..

1. When is the deadline for submitting the Step 2 CK and CS results in order to submit the 2008 match application on time?
2. How long does it take to receive the Step 2CK and CS results? Does it take 4-8 weeks like it took for Step 1?
3. By when do we have to submit our ERAS applications?

1. When is the deadline for submitting the Step 2 CK and CS results in order to submit the 2008 match application on time?

you must have passing scores in all 3 by the day the ROL are due (usually 3rd week in Feb)- if you don't you will automatically be pulled from the match and reported to your programs as a dead match

2. How long does it take to receive the Step 2CK and CS results? Does it take 4-8 weeks like it took for Step 1?

CK is similar to Step I timing- longer when US students are typically taking it (July-Sept), but generally around 4 weeks
CS is different- reported to take at least 2 months(sometimes longer) depends on the grouping time you take it- the people who take it at the beginning of a period will hear the same time the people at the end of the testing period- so could be as long as 3 months- so recommended to take this as early as possible

3. By when do we have to submit our ERAS applications?

tokens are gven out at the end of June, beginning of July. You need a token to register on ERAS. The 1st date to upload ERAS is usually the 1st week in Sept so programs can start downloading apps then as well. The Dean's letter cannot be uploaded til Nov 1st (for everyone - US and Foreign)so isn't available to download by programs til then either.
CW is to apply as early as you can- they tend to get picker about who they interview later in the game.

once you are informed of step 2 ck (and cs), how long does it take to 'move' the score over to the ECFMG application from the USMLE people??

i need to know for turnaround time when submitting the application---one 'real' shot at getting all the stuff in when doing it early, right??
