Break time during rotations?

I'm sure it will depend on the specific rotation and I guess the hospital as well but how much down time do you get on average?

Let's say for something like grabbing lunch. To tell the truth, that's what prompted me to think of this cause I eat a fair bit and fairly often as well. So do you guys usually just have something quick to eat while on the go or are there longer periods where you could go to the cafeteria or eat a packed lunch "in peace"?

Also, is there time to sometimes catch up reading during rotations? Again, related to getting some break time during the day.

Like you said, it depends on the rotation and depends on the day.

On Surgery, there have been days where I have been going 16 hours straight with a 15 minute break to get something from the hot food cart that they have stationed in the OR break room. On other days, such as on the ICU, when it is quiet and there is not much to do for the patients, you can have an hour lunch and plenty of time to sit and read.

NP. Just hope you get on the team that "runs the list" over breakfast in the cafeteria every morning. :-)

for you saora you will not have any problem with time in the caf- for the most part you never have to miss a meal - and you get a meal card at st joe's - and they just mark on top of things when you run out of money.

Yeah, saw that on the clinical website that we can get a mealcard for $65/month. Is that still the rate?
