GH is secreted thru out life. now if this were to be the case we would be constantly growing.so its an internal mechanish to regulate our system.its only produced q 2 hrs and that too in a pulsatile fashion .the first hour of sleep its the highest.not a steady prod.this is my understanding.

For what I remember Gnrh and GH are realise in a pulsatil fashion because if is continues the receptor will not do what the hormone tell it to do.

Yes I know not a very professional answe :0)

a good example for your question is to look up the MOA of leuprolide for both infertility and prostate CA an dthat should give u a clear pic.

continuous supply of the hormone-->downregulation of receptors.
it means,no. of receptors decrease inspite of the abundance of hormone.
think of insulin receptor downregulation & insulin resistance.

pulsatile release prevents downregulation of receptors.
