Holy crap!?...is this the same MUA in Nevis? I just checked both websites out (this is MUA in Nevis: Medical University Of The Americas - www.mua.edu (http://www.mua.edu/index.php)) and the new one noted here have the same University name but on completely different islands. Caribbean Medical School || Medical University of the Americas - Home (http://www.muamd.com) has a Belize and a London Campus.

THis is very confusing! Can someone here clarify if this is the same university or two different universities with the same name!

MUA belize and mua nevis were partners for a number of years and a couple of years they decided to spin off each other. Now both are 2 established distinct universitys. theres several advantages to mua belize, being that i am with mua belize and a family member is at nevis. mua belize is on a much more developed island whereas mua nevis lags in basic necassities. also the school is very near town, within walking distance. whereas mua nevis is a half hour drive away from town. also mua nevis is riddled with crime, whereas san pedro is very safe for students and accomodating. mua belize is also a permanent campus with all clinicals in usa, mua nevis puts students on long wait lists. check out mua belize, you'd love it compared to nevis. :eek:

with mua belize's reputation, the facts speak for themselves.and that is i'm graudating soon! the facts are students are and have been passing step 1 from mua belize! the facts are everystudent has a chance to do ALL there clinicals AT ONE location in USA!, the facts are we are on one of the best islands in caribbean very safe! the fact is our campus is dedicated and permanent! some people come on here to knock on us because they are jealous or represent other starter schools who think they can recruit! mua belize is 6 years old! with graduates! with students already passed the board exams!! so stop bashing us!:-devil

BillyBill, your so focused on how MUA belize is better than nevis cause of the island. Now I've never been to "Belize" but in my opinion the island doesn't really matter since your only going to be there for a few years.

Now, lets look at some the more important things like the "stats". 2006 graduating class at nevis 42 out of 43 students got residency, but hey belize is better right? Also, 86% of students pass the USMLE Step 1 on the first try, but hey belize is better right?

A word of advice, quite "advertising" your school based on your island and focus on some stats...just my opinion.

NICE SKEWED BIAS NUMBERS YOU POST!!!..my sister tells me daily about the violence on the island, especially the theives who harass/assualt/intimidate students!! believe me, since i know from my sis first hand, sure as heck, 86% are NOT Passing USMLE at nevis on their first attempt! your "stats" are made up, since i know 6 people at nevis, who tell me about the scandels, the cheating, and the lack of interest from the professors, so stop posting exaggerated numbers, no one's gonna buy into it!

Really violence on the island?? My brother and sister BOTH go to MUA, and they love it there and never mentioned anything about violence. As far as stats, they are true, I just think you might be in denial. MUA Belieze seems to be a fake and for those of you considering MUA Belieze, take caution, be there is many posts about the school being fraudulent. Unfortunately, "BillyBill" is none other than the owner of the school Mr. S******d. His school sank several times (but just won't stay down), and as such is a mere mirage at the current time. Note his cheery MUAB posts while denegrating the more succesfull (With NY State approval) Nevis. He failed to make a go of it with a partnership of those who later started St. Mathews (and succeeded), then failed again with the partnership with the owner of MUA Nevis and Saba, then a third time, used the students from the former St. Chris to prop up his school, betrayed them with false promises, deceit and scandal - and failed once again! Leaving them in the lurch! Stay away from "BillyBob" and his cheery bunch of propaganda. This owner and his wife are slick characters and salespeople but fortunately their trail of dishonesty, deceit and incompetance is well documented on this forum. Almost any school would be a safer bet!

Mr. S******d - the jig is up for you too! We all know who you are and how you operate! Stop exploiting the ignorant on this forum!

Since you have no problem posting you diploma on valuemd with your personal information, how abt i suggest a better solution. tell us ur name, and where u matched and hopefully some of valuemders will be able to verify if ur really going to be ra esident/graduate through hospital/school website.

It's not just that he's lost, but he is angry at the success of Mr. F*******S, the owner of Saba and MUA Nevis, so he tries to drive potential students away. While I don't know Mr. and Mrs. S*****d personally I do know a large handfull of students and three former instructors that all left at different times. All painted the same picture. Dishonest, Slick and sleazy sales people of little character or integrity. "BillyBill" - the more experienced on this forum will not allow you to decieve new viewers, without giving warning.

My advice to you is to admit failure after these many tries and why don't you and your wife actually try to pass YOUR boards and get into a residency program yourselfs!

I have heard good things about MUA Nevis and I have met a number of their students in the recent past who I thought were quite good. MUA Nevis has made tremendous leaps and bounds in a short period of time, while other schools like MUA Belize have simply languished and/or have nearly disintegrated due to incompetance, lack of investment, lack of infrastructure, lack of any meaningful connections in the US medical system and shady dealings with students. MUA Belize goes through cycles of students AND faculty that are lured there by false hype, only to leave after one or two semesters and having to start over again - their M.O. is not to issue transcripts to students wishing to transfer or to issue transcripts with F's or I's so that they are of no use to the students...

Check out MUA NEVIS or the 5 or so other reasonable schools in the area, but DO NOT GET TAKEN IN BY THE OWNERS OF MUA BELIZE!! STAY AWAY! YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME as friends and colleagues of mine have...

look guys going to a whole new school away from your country is a whole new experience that would make most uncomfortable we are all here to get a good medical education with hopes of an MD..with that said BillyBill, as requested by Drtobe in the previuos post, will you please clarify your name and where u matched..its as simple as that..just give us the name of the hospital and then i will call up the hospital and confirm you indeed are a student at MUAB with valid credentials
