View Full Version : Housing at IAU
How is dormitory/residence hall situation handled at IAU? Do students have to arrange for their own living spaces?
Are there any photographs of the living spaces students are occupying? Is their high speed internet available at the living spaces?
How is the security of these buildings? How far from campus? Walking distance?
How far is IAU from Spartan?

IAU students currently live in off campus housing, in apartments, specifically. We arrange their housing before they get to the island. Some students live alone, some share. Currently I have no new pictures of their apartments to upload, but I do know that they are needed. I'll get some posted on our website or on valuemd as soon as possible.
We have had no security issues. The apartments in the area--off of St. Jude's highway--are filled with medical students (ours and Spartan). Living is peaceful.
Students either drive or have a local taxi driver take them to the main campus which is approximately 2 miles away. The taxis (buses) are local and extremely cheap, less than $2/day for transportation. The tentative campus will be built walking distance from where all the students currently reside.
Spartan is currently about 2 miles from IAU. In the near future it will be walking distance away. Might seem strange, but the amount of available land in southern St. Lucia is minimal (despite what pictures show. Read: politics). Our new land, however, is a beautiful peace of real estate with ocean views. To add, Spartan and IAU coexist peacefully. Many friendships endure between the two campuses.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but you did post on Christmas and during a time when campus is closed.
