Hi everyone,
Just got my roomate info and it says ive been placed in a double six suite. I think its more expensive than the single rooms. Does anyone have any pictures so i can see what it looks like? Is it worth the extra 900 dollars? Whats the major difference? If its not worth it is there anyway i can get it changed?
Thanks

Consider yourself very lucky. As for the price, 6 person doubles are the cheapest housing on campus besides the SD doubles. The 6 person doubles are very spacious, close to lecture, many have a view of the water, and you have your own washer and dryer. Downsides are that you don't have a microwave and you don't have US outlets so you'll have to get a converter.

there is no way it is cheapeer than a single.
whatever you do, dont change your dorm assignment. you will be happy when you see it and compare it to the SDs.

Duh!, its a double so it only makes sense that its cheaper. Actually the double 6 was always one of the cheapest options in the campus, its even cheaper than a superdorm double last time i checked

You are lucky to get the double 6 because they are very spacious and central to everything. I just finished 1st term and was in SD 2 (the double occupancy/single room) You basically share your room with 1 other student but it is separated by a huge wooden wall which has shelves for your books and a place for your desk. If you live on the top floor, you will have large vaulted ceilings. And, as mentioned before, you will probably have a nice view of the ocean and Black Sand Beach.
The other dorms are nice, but the double 6 are, in my opinion, one of the best on-campus housing.

my vote would be the 5 person suites in z-building- 5 individual rooms with their own baths, a common kitchen area with washer and dryer and if you have one of the outsdide ones, a balcony (i lived in the top one over the mailroom, so the veiw was fabulous)!

well... funny story...about halfway into 1st term, our frig stopped shutting- it worked just fine, but we had to duct tape it shut, so i went to housing to tell them about it and they sent a new frig to our suite, but they ended up NOT taking the older frig, so we had TWO frigs for the rest of the term!!

I have a feeling the housing office is going to see a record number of students reporting broken refrigerators after this post. :p
