The school doesnt have on campus housing like some of the others but there are nice places close to school that are cheap yet nice!!!! Dont try to live away from school cuz its a hassel with the bus system to get to and back home from school... THERE IS A NICE AREA CALLED WALL-HOUSE WHERE MOST OF THE STUDENTS LIVE..... its like 7 min walk from school and the houses in the area are rather nice!!!! the rent for students is not that much compared to other places - i personally have a studio appt that has everything included for just 450 USD (including A/C)......
just a few pointers to future students!!!!!!

Hi ! Could you please give me more details about WALL-HOUSE area? I will be joining ALL SAINTS in september. My only concern is about accomodation ,as there are no residences. If you could please let me know the cost per semester or on yearly basis of the wall-house area. Thanks a LOTTTTTT!!:)

check out Safe Haven real estate (google)
They have some pretty nice places, most of them close to or in Roseau, and their prices are pretty cheap, especially compared to highway robbery prices in Portsmouth.

Hi I have applied to for Sept. 2007 semester and I would like to know about some you guys experience such as the schools pro and cons, natives, average cost of living. Also do you need a car. I was reserching plane tickets and I could not find any direct flights from the East Coast and the tickets average $850.

Loela,
first off i think you can still apply for May ( if you want - contact the head office). Secondly, pro and cons - i am sure if you research the forums you can get a good idea (if you still have question then pm me). Thirdly, Average cost of living - depends from 400 US to XXX US (thats including rent) (also depends on how you manage money and your life style). Lastly, there is no direct flight to Dominica, you have to go through San Juan or Antigua or Barbados.
btw - you don't really need a car - bus system is good and the roads sux.

Hi, i have searched the forum and I have visted the website and the school is not WHO listed and in certain states WHO is required for license. I had my interview and got accepted yet, I don't know if I am willing to take that chance.

I have never heard of a state that requires WHO listing for licensing. Who is only if you want to work in countries other than US and Canada. Because All Saints does it clinicals in US, its graduates can practice in ALL states of US w/ proper accreditation and WHO is not one of these. With that said, the school is going to get WHO approved soon as it possibly can so its graduates can work in other parts of the world.

No schools are listed in the WHO anymore if you go to the website then you will find that they are updating and trying to get a new directory with the University of Coppenhagen - So until that time no school is WHO listed and any school that says they are - are going from a retroactive listing that is no longer valid as WHO/Coppenhagen hasn't cleared them. Most countries will be using IMED until this time - hope this helps.

who is not important anymore , call canada and ask and school is workign on who anyways, but from W.H.O. website it can be understood that as of next year or so even this year, IMED/FAIMER listed school will all be on W.H.O.'s new website.

practice in ALL STATES???? really? please check this out because places like California and Texas are very specific on who they allow to practice, specially coming from an international medical school. Also the WHO gives standing to the school.

No one said that you could practice in all states..... also who is not a recognizing body so how exactly being on the who list gives ALL SAINTS more standing.....

In fact WHO Directory also pointed out that the listing does not imply approval of the of the academic standards of the universities therein listed.

By the way there is nothing strange in having ASUM Campus in Dominica & Aruba Islands respectively, so to speak. Some universites extend their tentacles from one continent to another continent and from one country to another. What is so strange about having ASUM extend to Dominica, which is within the same neighhood?
ASUM I think has smart administration and visionary leadership, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. It's clear! I would feel threatened too!

If the person that you have on the island is a student then you should be fine but if they aren't you may want them to go to the school and look through the stack of places available that are submitted to the office. It just may make it easier for your friend.

The person that is looking for me lives on the island and is trustworthy. Our families know eachother.

I don't doubt the fact that your friend is trustworthy - I would hope so they are your friend. I was just trying to recommend they go to the school as alot of the locals on the island have submitted their place as being available - It would just give your friend more options on places to choose from for you and maybe a better price - just a suggestion - it is of course up to you.

my best advice is to go to Laurence and Birchmount and there is a BMO where they have processed some ASUM applications like mine. Go speak to Albert and mention Imraan
Also TD bank gives loans, and we shoudl have terri by end of this year coming, so by next year Terri loans will be available, for sure.
