I'm in the same position as you. I don't exactly know where to start or what's more important to do first. Welcome to my club! LOL I guess just take care of things one thing at a time.

Thank god someone is in the same position as me. LOL Have you been looking up for a dorm yet? I think i am going to try to find the books first and then starting in march start my shopping and rest of my paper works. Good luck to you to

Hey paki24 & Melian,

I will be starting premed in May and I just recently arrived back in the US from visiting Nevis. I'm glad to try and answer any questions you have about the whole process (as best I can), but there are still plenty of things that I do not know. As far as the dorm business goes I was told that everyone faxes their dorm questionnaires into the Gardner office. Sometime around mid-April the Gardner office then sends all those faxed forms down to the administration on Nevis and they then set about assigning rooms (predominantly in the Rawlins pasture dorm). Of course this only applies if you are not married and/or bringing a significant other to the island.

I hope this might shed just a bit of light onto the housing deal. I'm glad to share anything else about my trip to Nevis if it could help someone else. Also, if you haven't yet been to the island and would like to see some real pictures I have uploaded some, and I'd be glad to share them with anyone who is interested.

hey Melian and nkda1819,
how are you doing? My friend goes to MUA and she is in the jan 07 Md program if you got any question regrading to the paper work or what to buy for the island i can find out from her. Regrading to the dorms i filled out my paper when i had gotten my accepteance letter in the mail. I think you should do that right away so you can get 1st serve.

Oh yeah- I definitely faxed my dorm form back to Gardner as soon as I received it. I actually just booked my tickets for the trip down there in May today....exciting stuff....it'll be here before we know it.

Alright I'm going to do up my dorm questionnaire and fax it in ASAP!! Other than that, I'm slowly plugging away at the list of things to bring and at the same time trying to figure out a what to ship everything in. I am going down to the island two weeks before school starts to settle in and explore the island before the madness begins:p !

Do you think i should fax my dorm requst forms one more time just in case they dont forget about me. I got a question for you guys nkda1819 n melian did you guys come str8 from high school or college? When do you think i should look up the plane tickets. i was thinking about coming to nevis a week before the term starts. my friend told me that if you go earlier like a week early you will be placed with a room mate you want.

If you're worried about them having misplaced or not getting your housing form you could perhaps call the Gardner office and ask them- I bet they could tell you if they have it on file. As far as the plane tickets I would think it will depend somewhat on where you are flying from- I fly out of a smaller airport so I looked early and have already booked my flights. I know I was told that students could begin arriving Tuesday-Thursday of the week prior to orientation. I am planning on arriving during that time. I've been to the island before so I don't feel that I need any extra time beyond that to explore.

I've been to college and worked as a paramedic.

Hey NDKA,

It would be nice if the dorms would be ready by then but I'm not so sure they are. I think I'll give Garnder a call tomorrow (or later) and see when the dorms actually open up. If not I'll prolly have to find somewhere to stay but I don't know if I can afford to stay in a hotel for that long (i.e. a week, kinda expensive).

Hey pak24, I am straight outta college (BSc). Like NDKA says just give Gardner a call to see whether they have your dorm form on file. I'mma fax mine tomorrow. Can you send me some pics from your trip (email: mel2ness@yahoo.ca) thanx!
