Hello. I am thinking about applying to SABA and was wondering if there are any clincal sites in california...the website only lists hospitals in the east cost.

thanks.

Good question. What's the latest now with Kern? Someone said Saba has a few spots there, but someone else called Kern and Kern said they had no contract with Saba.

Anyone want to try to clarify this?

I called the Kern office and was told there is no formal affiliation with SABA yet. This is straight from the Horse's mouth. She did say that they were looking into SABA but nothing is going to pan out this year.

Good work, Intl. Nothing beats going straight to the source for the info. Thanks.

I'm at Kern doing rotations and haven't met one person from Saba yet.

Maybe that's because they see you first?

[kidding! only kidding. i just couldn't resist. ok, ok it wasn't even funny. but he is an auc student, so you could maybe see why the saba studs would want to avoid... ok, i did it again. last one, i promise. really, i'm just kidding around.]

well I was told by the clinical coordinator that there were rotations available there now!! In fact, I was somewhat interested in them but the timing was off for me. BUt, as yet, I haven't heard of any of my peers or the class b4 mine going to Kern... so who knows

Interesting. Seems like it should be something that's pretty straightforward. And both Saba and Kern should be in agreement, to say the least. I wonder what the best way to resolve this would be?

That's really weird b/c on the Medical Board of California (http://www.medbd.ca.gov/Applicant_Schools_Recognized.htm) Website it states that Saba is approved:

"Netherlands Antilles
Saba University School of Medicine (coursework from 1/1/02 to present)"

yeah, the question isn't whether they're approved in Cali, it's whether they have any affiliated clinical sites there yet for 3rd and 4th year.
