7-year-old girl named Molly Sims presents to your clinic at the House of Style Memorial Hospital today. Her H&P is a 4-day history of fever, dyspnea, and intermittent joint pain. She has a history of sore throat 1 month ago. On physical examination, her temperature is 104, blood pressure is 90/60 mm Hg, pulse is 115/min, and respirations are 25/min. Her knees and elbow joints are swollen and tender to palpation. There is a grade III/VI diastolic murmur best heard at the apex. Multiple fine, pink macules are noted on her trunk.
