I dont know the culture too well, but from my friends at Ross , it seemed like indian dating was very complicated in trying to please parents and stay within indian " type "

to me , you guys are all indians , dont see why there is strife within the groups . I dont want to sound racist , but its my observation and thats all I can comment on .

I think it's because we all speak different languages, eat different food, and have different customs for everything. The main reason is because even though all Indian people are the same race, there is not much uniformity after that. Different parts of india are totally different. Each state is almost it's own country. Much like all the countries in Africa are completely different from each other, but all are african people.

Although I suppose waking up next to hairy transvestites is still better than waking up to k-fed the aspiring rapper "smack my booty dawgy style oh yesssssssss britneyyyyyyyyyyy".

Some arranged marriages might be horrible, but many work out well, since families often know how to pick out compatible mates. The problem is, for those of us lacking in the sanity department, we are never pleased with what our compatible matches might turn out to be.:rolleyes:

Anytime I've attempted to cook, all 7 smoke alarms start going off even before I turn on the stove. Our system is so sensitive (it is a new house) that when my dad puts bread in the toaster, the alarms start screaming.
