q) Quick, say I asked you if a women w/ GBS infection can have a vaginal delivery or if I phrased the question if a baby w/ a mother w/ GBS is at serious risk, what would you say? You MUST KNOW all the at-risk bugs and how often the mother may transmit to the fetus.
a) Patients with GBS urine infection are allowed to have a vaginal delivery but must receive IV antibiotics during labor to prevent GBS invasive disease of the newborn. This is, hint hint, a key finding. KNOW all the bugs that can affect said baby.
