Hey everyone, I have an interview this weekend in the DC/Baltimore area. I'm having a tuff time finding more threads through the search engine about how long the interview is, what it is like, what they ask you, and the possible essay prompts.

If anyone has the links for these, or knows first hand the answers I am seeking, don’t hesitate to reply back.

Thanks.

I did some search for my interview which was last month. I have found the following info helpful.

Hi Guys! I had my interview yesterday evening in ca with a chief resident of surgery. He was 4th yr resident. And when I reached there, he said that he doesnt have my file with him, so he might have to go to his house to pick it up. And he really apologized for that, but I dint mind though I was a bit nervous:P(ohh btw,he was 10min late, as he was interviewing someone else before me. But that wait was kinda frightening)
So now he took me along in his car to his house which was abt 15min drive from the hospital where the interview was suppose to be. He has this bigggg house near a late, where he said most of the physicians live. Anyway, he quickly went in and grabbed my file. oh forgot to mention, while driving here he gave me that essay sheet to have a look at it and to get ready to write about one of the topics. Those three Q's were:
1. Describe one important experience of your adult life.
2. Decribe three characteristics that will help you achieve your career goal as a physician.
3. Name the persons that influenced your decision to be a physician.
Although these are the exact same Q's that has been mentioned here before, but in different order:P ( Also, he said these same Q's the school is having from last 10yrs.)
So we talked while driving about his experiences, about me, and I asked him Q's that I had. So some of my interview took place while driving:P
So when we came back, he took me to this conference room and handed over that essay sheet to me and he left. He wanted to read my application to brushup his memory as he said he don't remember much about me coz he read my application few days ago. so I gave him a call when i was done with the essay. And now he came back, and I guess legally this is when my interview started:P
He said he just have to ask few Q's because sgu wants him to fill out some sheet, but overall it never felt like he was interviewing me. It was a simple conversation and very relaxing. The Q's that he asked has been discussed here many times: how would you finance your education, how you heard about sgu, and why you want to be a Doc, What you think is the most imp issue that US health care system is facing.
And in the end, he said to call sgu in two weeks if you dont hear back anything from them. My overall experience was good. But this waiting is what I dont like much. I wish if he could tell me right away if I am in or no:P. But thats fine!
Anyway, now I am just hoping for the best and the best only!
I also want to thanks this forum and the people who post here. Trust me, that helped me a lot. I learned of lots of (good and bad)stuff about sgu that i wasnt even aware of. I am really looking forward to be a part of Aug '06 class.
