I hope things went well today for everyone. You won't have to wait too long to find out how you did, they usually post the results on Angel by late afternoon the day of the exam.
Good luck with pathophys!!!

Posted average was 74.88.
General opinion on the exam.
Just like neuro, you have to memorize every little detail from the notes. I was expecting more concept questions, but that did not really happen. Maybe pathophys...?
And for the record, I was very unhappy with them:
1) randomly picking 2 students (plus 1 sga) to stay and review questions two days before the pathophys exam.
2)not posting the answer key right away. I mean, is it that they are unsure? If it can be managed in gnd, then it should be here as well.
Anyways, time to review a term of immuno in three hours:) .

Posted average was 74.88.
was that with or without the curve?

Well either the individual grades aren't posted or I got 0% as all I'm seeing is the average like you said.
Yeah, I definitely need to memorize more. Didn't feel too happy walking out of that exam. I know I've been procrastinating a lot this term and I guess it's time for that to stop. I just feel really out of it for some reason. I haven't even started reviewing for Monday yet. *sigh*

Curious as to why you don't see a bar graph with your grade vs. the class average in the pharm course front page.
As to it being curved, who knows?

Hey Saora,
Click on the graph... it should load up your score.

09-22-2006, 06:46 PM
Well there are three explanations I can think of:
1. I did get 0 but that's unlikely as I knew question 5 for sure.
2. They are adding grades alphabetically/randomly and haven't done mine yet.
3. There was a problem with my scantron.
Who knows. All I see is the course average.

Me no see gradey. :(
Just the blue column showing the course average. I see a green square in the legend telling me what colour my grade should be but that's it. Just going to wait I guess.
PS Nice hair Mark. (j/k)

I'm starting to think Mark did the hair thing just to distract us in class. When the light shines on it just right, the bright parts light up like a luminescent disco ball. If he ever stands straight up into the projector beam, it's gonna turn into a hypnotic laser light show !
luminescent disco ball in the best possible way of course!

you might want to click on the 'refresh' button that is directly beneath the stats tracker thingy that is the first page to pop up after you enter the pharmacology folder
I had to do this - otherwise mine said zero also (almost messed myself the first time I saw this !! :) )
GL on monday - I just looked at the stack of stuff - scary
Cheers,

Is there any other way to take that? :)

anyone know what the cut off point is for an A
I'm guessing it's around 83%... based on discussions with classmates.
Anyone else have an idea?

Well just got back home and still no luck. Maybe that's for the best so I don't get overly-depressed and not bother studying for Pathophys. lol
Thanks for the advice anyway.

Hey Saora, don't worry about your score. Some people had problems last term because the scantron messed up. It happened to me on the 3rd pharm exam. Freaked me out cuz I thought I didn't get any right and that I'd be staying behind.
Yeah, I think the cutoff for A last term on the first exam was an 82.5%.
Also, don't think that pathophys will test you on concepts. It still required alot of detail, but this first one isn't too bad. However, I did walk out of the exam and think, where the heck did these questions come from? It kinda felt like a CS written exam from Grenada. I used knowledge from other courses to answer the questions...haha....hmmm, maybe I should have studied harder...haha.
Btw, have any of you guys discovered "Yvette's Pork City" yet? My roommate and I went there after every pharm exam to destress with a hugh plate of BBQ ribs for $13EC.

Yup, went and got some chicken and ribs last week and went back again tonight with some friends but they were all out of ribs. Just chicken. :(
It was good, but I wanted ribs again.
Thanks for the heads up about the scantrons. I know of at least one other person who doesn't have their score up either. Sucks about Pathphys. Why is there never good news??

Hey I remember the cutoffs for my class last term were:
Pathophys: 78 A 68 B 50 C
Pharm: 84 A 74 B 65 C
This is what i remember...but I may be off by a few points. The pathophys cutoff was definetely 78 for that 'A'.
Good Luck to you all down there.

At the place Marco mentioned - Yvette's Pork City.
You know when you're heading to the airport from campus, slightly before you get to the roundabout there's a fairly straight stretch of road (you make a 90 degree right turn just before it) and there's a little supermarket/grocery on the left? Okay, a little more than halfway down that straight road, there's a hardware store called Trotman's. It has a big blue sign on the road. About 20 feet before that on the same side (right) there's where you'll find Yvette's. I think they only sell BBQ on Fri/Sat though.
If you go at night (which is also when I'd think they sell the BBQ) you can't miss their sign as it's that tube lighting that spells out the name.
You can get chicken or ribs + 2 sides (usually macaroni and fig/green banana salad) for $12 and $13 dollars respectively.
I don't find the ladies there too friendly (unlike most people here). I've been there three times now and it's only on my last visit where I said my customary "thank you" when someone gives me something that she actually acknowledged it. The regular patrons also give some mean staredowns. lol
PS The food is damned good!!
MYung
09-25-2006, 11:54 PM
Yeah, I don't think that they're open every night. I'm only positive that they're open on Fridays. You can't miss it if you drive towards the airport on friday nights around 7-8pm. You'll see a bunch of people lining up and you'll smell the awesome food just driving by.
Saora, now that the secret's out, you're gonna have to get there extra early to make sure you get ribs...haha. Btw, have they finished the extension adjacent to the parking lot? They started building it just as I was leaving last term.
How did the exam go today?

I love getting directions in the Caribbean. All that is missing is the inevitable "...and turn right at the goat."
