I've been kinda looking at my number of weeks left after completing cores and FP and Neuro.
I'll only get 4 1/2 months worth of electives afterwards. Anyone else get that problem?
How did any of you arrange which electives you chose? Did you take more? did you have to pay the school? If so, how much?
You should get 5 and 1/2 months more electives after Neuro and FP (22 weeks to be more precise). For everyone else who wonders, the breakdown is 72 weeks total clinicals, 42 spent in cores and 30 in electives.
I arranged the electives based on the specific attending I'd be working with and what specialty, the ultimate decision being based on which would be most beneficial to me. I'm not taking more, but I'm sure you can, there's a per week additional fee and I think that's specified in the clinical electives guide that comes with the registration packet every semester.

Unless you go to providence where Peds and OB are 8 week rotations. I'm scheduled for 46 weeks of core rotations.
