Hi all,

Just wondering when others are planning to arrive in Domincia for the Jan 07 semester.

Anyone leaving from Miami??? I found tickets on Orbitz for as low as $780 and $710 from Orlando for Dec 26th.

Look forward to hearing from ya. :o)

Hi. I think I will book a ticket for December 27th. I try to find flights that do not have long transit time, but they tend to be more expensive (a hundred dollars more) than those that transit overnight via san juan or NY.

:D

I'll be flying from LAX

I'm leaving Dec. 31 from Dallas. Paying an arm and a leg. Will cause some difficulty when I get to clinicals having only one arm and one leg. I may have to give the other arm and leg if I want to come home between semesters...hmm...Can you use a scalpal with your teeth?

I'm really glad there'll be someone with a funny sense of humor in our class :D I called Austin Travel and the guy told me $858 with an open return date up to 1 year.

My understanding is that airlines no longer offer open return flights for security reasons. Please ask Austin about this and get back to us.

Arriving on December 27th...

I called Austin Travel...and they said they don't issue open return tickets, but you can change it later on (for $100 or so).

I ended up buying my ticket online, it was about $150 less than the fare through Austin.

We bought our tickets online also and the return ticket is refundable so we plan to keep it just to use for Visa purposes but then get a refund once we arrive in Dominica. Then when we plan to return we will buy a one way ticket back. Orbitz has them for $710 roundtrip if your leaving from Orlando, FL

i plan on leaving the states on the 30th and its so difficult finding a return flight! the flights out on 4/20 are only at like 2:40pm so I doubt i'd make it and all the flights out on 4/21 that i've seen on orbitz are so $$ like 1800+ for a rdtrip ticket.

boo i cant leave until 4/22 and wont arrive in the states until monday morning. :(

I was having the same problem for the 21st. I decided to buy 2 separate return tickets. The first one I found on orbitz for dominica to san juan. I have a 2 hour layover, then am taking jet blue back to NYC. I also used orbitz for my departure on Dec 31. Round trip is costing me $750.

whenever i search on orbtiz for flights out of dom (one way) it says that it doesnt support outbound flights from dom.

Individual travel brokers may differ...Orbitz won't support a Dominican outbound flight, but it's ok with Travelocity and many of the others.
