How did her mom know that he is dead? if she already knew that he is dead, then what is the point of asking again?

You aren't by chance talking about this:

It wasn't meant to be.
The situation with regards to a young man who went to the caribbean and died unexpectedly with reports of uncontrollable vomitting eerily parallel the story linked above.

If he is already dead, and the hospital already told his mom, then there is nothing to be confirmed again.
And why would you post a message like that on the internet, when you can call the school or the hospital yourself?
At last, if the mother doesn't even know which school her son went to, obviously she doesn't really care about her son that much.

shes 47 years old...
lost her mother due cancer 3 years ago
father two years ago when he tried to stop a robbery.
lost her husband a few months ago in a car accident
just beat breast cancer....only to have it resurface a few weeks back.
and now loses a son.
(ps...school is starting and investigation...hospital wont pick up the phone)
forgive her for being a tad bit delusional

poor woman... could it really get any worse for her?
poor woman... could it really get any worse for her?
yea, by being true.
i seem to recall someone making up rumors like this a few months back or so. and yes, as mentioned, this would be the last place to go to for info on such a sensitive matter. and anyone who had this in reality would not be looking for info here.

Well said Jim. Can't understand why someone would start something like that. This thread should end here.

well you didn't really state that in any of your posts. I'm sure if you did, people would be willing to help. You said the mom was trying to make her way down there, not you.

When you arrive, we can have arrangements made to have a student direct you to the best possible resource/guide(s) on the island: A Member of the Carib Indian Tribe who resides in the mountainous regions of the island. They probably know the island better than the back of your.....hand. Good luck in your search. Way to be frank about "bringing the body home," shows you really have compassion for the loss to the family.

By the way Chi-town, didn't you know that Dominica does NOT even have a hospital? The health facility is set up on the beach near a hotel that neighbors the school: a few beach towels are laid out on the sand, and siphons are setup from the sea water to serve as saline IV's. The patients have to be re-arranged in the sand during times of high/low tides. So naturally, they don't have a phone. (BTW, stop trolling Ross forums just becuase you have nothing to do after your institution closed its doors)

you apparently have NO idea what you're talking about, and using humor in a situation like this is totally inappropriate.
We do have a Hospital in Rosseau. It might NOT be perfect, but that's all we've got. We also have US paramedics that are students here that volunteer their services. So It sounds like sad news.

To stop the rumors.. Yes, there was a death of a merp student from michigan that came down here with his girl that was also in merp(she is now in first sem.). It was from an overdose. He wasn't enrolled in sem 1. It's been a tough week for all us april merp'ers.

No, you obviously didn't catch the sarcasm.
Dude, calm down...I was directing my comments towards another poster, not you.
The topic of a student death was brought so prematurely...nobody laughs at a death of a person, so stop making it seem like I did. Besides, I won't believe it until I see confirmation that a student actually had passed.

I seriously believe that if someone is trying to get information on something as serious as this, becuase he feels he's not getting a response from another party, we should try to help him. Although I obviously got your sarcastic remarks, I totally feel that there's NO place for sarcasm or humor when dealing with death...
"I won't believe it until I see confirmation that a student actually had passed."
Can you see that there are students in the 1st semester that are going through a VERY tough time? Do you even go to Ross?

I think that this person is delusional. He posted the same message in st. george forum and also in saba, i think.
Maybe he was the one who is imagining things here. If he is serious about helping the mother, he could have just called those 800 numbers of those schools, there is certainly no need to post messages on here.

I was an April Merp student, and this girl was repeating Merp. Her boyfriend that she met at merp, went to the island. While at merp, We saw her arriving with another guy from merp, every morning.Toward the last week, I din't see her again with the guy. I am assuming that when She went to the island, She tried to resume relationship with her boyfriend, or finally left him, and we are seeing the result.

If there was a death at the school, the school should report it to all of us. That would stop rumors this horrible

Has Ross posted anything about this? Or has there been anything in the local paper? I mean its not everyday a student dies and I would imagine that it would be big news.About a year and half ago an sgu undergrad was murdered in Trinidad(he was from there) and while it was discussed on vmd, it was also mentioned on both the website and and in the local paper. Someone even linked the paper's website to the thread.
