1st Day of Clinical Experience?

I am interested in hearing everyones first day at clinicals after passing Step 1. Was it what you expected? Any suprises and if you could give advice to those behind you, what would it be?

Day 1 .....go home, call your attending tomorrow morning

Yeah, I think that's how my Day 1 kinda went. Well, after the orientation and tours.

first day of clinicals, psych, just orientation, nothing much, left before noon, after that, still boring, can't wait to finish psych

First day of clinicals... tour of hospital, orientation, meet team, follow my resident, saw a couple of procedures (though i walked in while it half way just begun), follow my resident some more... got way overwhelmed...home at 5:00p.m tired. I thought i'd get home by 3:00 on my first day, but, it's all well and good, I got to learn and see alot of stuff.

The docs really understand that students are nervous on their first day so they don't put alot of pressure on you on your first day (at least that's the way where i'm rotating) :)
