A 32 year old woman that is pregnant with her 2 child and is in her 28 week of gestation , comes to the office with edema in her ankles and lower legs, elevate blood pressure and also complains with dysuria her urine test come back with leukocytes + and with proteinuria.

1- What is the DX
2- Do you give her Captopril?
3- If yes or no please explain why
4- Do you give her Tetracycline
5- If yes or no please explain why
6- Can you give her a cephalosporin?

2)no
3)ace inhibitors cause renal damage in the fetus
4)no
5)also teratogenic (teeth, inhibits bone growth)

penicillins just cover the gram positives simple gram negatives but third generation cephalosporins can cover seriuos gram negative infections as well?

I know this one:) No, you can't. they are cross allergenic with penicillins.
