Oasis Question

Hello everyone! I took the exam on August 18th and today I went to the ECFMG site and tried to register again. This messgae showed up:Our records indicate that you are already registered for this Step or Step Component. You may not apply for a Step or Step Component if you are already registered for that Step or Step Component. If you fail or do not complete a Step or Step Component, you may submit another application for this exam, but certain time limits apply when retaking a Step or Step Component. For complete information, refer to Reexamination and Reapplication in the ECFMG Information Booklet and Retakes in the USMLE Bulletin of Information.

Now I know that it takes like some 3 weeks to do the oasis trick, but is it possible that my score got reported early and I passed!!! Or is this what it usually says if you do the trick before 3 weeks? Any response would be appreciated.

i did the oasis trick yesterday. it gave me the same message. took the exam aug 8. waiting for the paper result to come today or tomm.

I took my exam August 9th and did the "OASIS trick" today; IWA would not let me re-register as "our records show you have passed this Step or Step component" :D. (You have to wait until the OASIS bit gives you a date when your score was reported, otherwise it won't let you re-take the test because it thinks you haven't finished your first one yet. My score was Reported to ECFMG 30th Aug)

So, try yours again as you may have been reported by now.

Hey congrats man! Yeah I checked Oasis today b/c its the 3rd thursday after my exam (Aug 18th) but it said my score hasnt been reported yet. I dunno, maybe they are delayed due to labor day possibly. I guess ill check it again tomorrow:( . Does oasis update everyday at midnight?

Mine took 21 days to report (30th Aug - 9th Aug), and 21 days after your test is tomorrow, so hopefully you'll be a happy camper then!

you actaully have to wait for your score to be reported first in OASIS before applying again in IWA...

Anyway, I keep hearing people about this Oasis trick, but Im not sure, which website do I go? What do I do?

The oasis trick only works if u applied through ECFMG (i.e: you are an IMG). This is how it works.

You have to wait for your score to be reported. Once it's reported, you log into oasis on the ecfmg website and try to reregister for step1 again. If it lets you reregister, it means that u failed (because once you have passed step 1 you cant take it again). If you passed, you will get a message right away at the beginning of the application that you cant register for step i because you have already passed.

you guys do realize that your scores are also dependent on ECFMG.....which is currently also dealing wtih everyone who is matching this year

Oasis got updated today and it said that I passed!!!:) I took my exam Aug 18th and it finally updated my score today. I want to thank everyone one this forum for all of the help and advice you have given me. Just waiting for my score now!! Good luck to all that will be taking their exam or waiting for their score.
