A friend of mine recently got accepted to the University of Washington SOM and she told me that if after an interview, the interviewers tell you to contact them with any questions, you are most likely to be accepted. Well, i just had my interview with SABA today and that's what they said and asked me if i will have any problems of paying the tuition before the loan kicks in and explained to me that IF i get accepted, it will be provisionally since i am finishing the last of my prerequisites. Do you guys think that this is a good sign. Anybody was told the same thing but was rejected? Thanks.

Other than the provisional part, that is exactly how mine went down and I will be starting in Jan. Just out of curiousity, which semester did you apply for?

i'm applying for the Jan term. When did you get your interview? My interview wasn't exactly warm and relax as other people said. But they asked very direct questions about my transcript and were very respectful and attentive of my answers. I hope that i get good news soon.

I had my interview in late July and got my acceptance letter within 2 weeks (mine took longer because I live in Canada I think). But in my limited experience (1 whole interview with them =) I would say that judging from what you say, you will get in. But then again, what do I know? For curiousity sake, what are your stats like?

I have a 3.83 cum and 3.76 science. They asked me some extremely personal questions that caught me off guard. All in all, i think they genuinely wanted to find out more about me and whether i will have any problems with the school in addition to all the life drama i have been going through. For coolmd, my questions werent like the one others posted. I guess i all depends on your application. One question that i seen before is why saba.

Hey HocusPocus, since they gave me a deferment to finish my bachelor degree, i'm gonna take the MCAT just to see how it is. If i get a good score, i will apply to some U.S schools.

If I was you, with that GPA I wouldnt even be thinking carib at this point. Invest your energy in the MCAT and staying stateside. You can do it!

Take the MCAT and see. It is much easier at residency time to avoid the whole foreign grad thing. With that GPA, you may do quite well.

Thanks everyone, yes i'm definitely going to apply to some U.S schools. The only reason why is because i didn't plan to take the MCAT and was anxious to start med school as soon as possible. But the last couple weeks, i'd been doing some thinking and decided i'm gonna try stateside schools first. DRJ11 is right about the no confidence part.

cookies, at this point you should really try to do the best you can to secure your future and get into an American medical school. Cutting corners and trying to get done quick is not always the best route to take. As you said, you haven't finished a bachelors yet so I'm assuming you're still pretty young. Why did you not plan to take the mcat?? It's really not that bad, especially starting 2007 you can almost take it whenever you want! So get some books, possibly a course, and start studying!

You don't even have to take it in January since fall 2007 deadlines will already have passed and if you're applying for fall of 2008 then take it anytime you feel comfortable between January and April and you should be fine. I would say April just so you have more time to study and I think with the new CBT format scores get released quicker so you can have your amcas application out on time as well.
