A 30-year-old man who recently joined a gym complains of itching between his toes; Physical examination reveals pustules on the fingers of both hands, and white macerated tissue between the toes; The patient says the pustules have been quite itchy, and appear about a week after the itching between the toes began. (I have a picture, and it's only fair that you have one too... )

1. What is the most likely diagnosis?
2. What are the three micro-organisms that are often responsible for this presentation?
3. How is the micro-organism transmitted, and how does it cause illness?

1. Tinea pedis
2. is a cutaneous fungal infection.. can't remember the name...
3. walking barefoot, and coming into contact with the infected host; poor hygiene; sweaty feet (especially after a workout).. warm and moist..; usually affects the epithelium of the skin
4. skin biopsy?
5. since it's a fungus.. topical azoles
