WAMCT = What are my chances thread
(maybe it will catch on!!!)

I'm going into my junior year at a UCSB in california.
3.51 Cummulative.
My grades would be around a 3.7, but my senior year of highschool my
father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He lived longer than most
people who have that disease, but passed away in aprill of my freshmen year
in college. I blame the C+ i got in gen chem first semester, and the C i got
in integral calculus on that. I got an B+ and A- in the other 2 gen chem
quarters and have gotten all A's in my 3 other math quarters.
Other than those two grades I'm pretty much all A- B+
range with an A+ here or there.

I havent taken the MCAT yet but i'm looking into the kaplan course.

Random stuff:

-2 summer internships at UCLA Medical Center. One working with the
resident doctors regarding their patient communitation skills.
-A year at a hospital as a care extender (aka nurse's gofor guy)
-Paid work at the Recreational center at my school starting a intramural
table tennis league
-3 years as file clerk in a doctors office (my dads practice that he sold
before he passed, this was done in highschool)
-One quarter working in an ecology lab.

thats all i can remember right now. Let me know if i have a chance at US med schools. I'm deciding wether or not to spend the 1600 dollars on the MCAT course. So my real question is... Is it worth my money!!!

No chance whatsoever, sorry. Not even .1 of a percent!

J/p. Your grades are fine. But it all rides on your MCAT score, you being a california resident especially. Well, that and your Personal Statement, letters of recommendation and interview.
