As a graduate student, I understand that you're eligible for a total of $18,500 per year. Now my question is do you have to stay in good academic standing and complete a certain amount of credit hours each year in order to keep recieving aid? Or does this vary from school to school?

I know there is this loan GRADUATE PLUS LOAN out there for med students. But, there are credit requirements of no 90 day late payments. I have one. Can there be co-signers with this that has excellent credit?

I've been researching Gradloans Plus as well...from what I've read (and unfortunately I can't find the link for you), IF you have credit problems as defined by them (i.e 90+ day issue), you'll be asked for a co-signer (at the very least)...even so, they have the right to reject the loan approval

Hope this helps.

For any federal loans you have to be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, or half time, to be eligible. This is a federal regulation.
Grad PLUS loans can be taken out for any amount up to the entire cost of your schooling (tuition, room, board, books, fees, etc) and do require passing a credit check. You don't have to have excellent credit, just no bad marks on it such as delinquent loans or bankruptcies. If you don't have the credit you can have a co-signer who does.
