You need to get a waiver to change to an H-1.

To apply for P.R. status (or Greencard) you will need a a U.S. employer who is willing to give you a permanent job offer. In many cases your will require to have a certified labor certification by the Department of Labor. Then your employer may petition for you to the USCIS...
