Just to let you all know on the East Coast to never use Laparken Shipping out of NY/NJ. I've used them three times and have reached my limit of patience.

First time things went well - everything arrived on time. Second time their lack of customer service was less that stellar but since my first experience with them was good I thought I'd give them another chance. My mistake.

The people at the office are incompetant and they lie about dates and times as to when they'll drop off supplies. The last straw was today when I got an e-mail from back home. Originally, the driver scheduled a pick up for this Saturday but then called early this morning to change it to later on this afternoon. Than meant my sister (works the night shift) had to get up super early to pack my barrel so the morons could take it later today. I guess she could have stood her ground and told them to come tomorrow as originally planned but with they way they've been lately maybe it's best to take what you can get and never use them again!!!

Just wanted to warn y'all about them. Next time it'll be Tropical Shipping for me.

I want to send some things to the island before I get there. The only company I was aware of was Amerijet. I've never really heard of Laparkin or tropican until now. Im in NY, so what are my options? If you could include length of time for arrival and price that would be very helpful :)

MD2B, Amerijet is very fast and convenient. As the name infers, they fly your things here and it usually takes about a week from when you drop it off to them. I dropped my things off in Los Angeles and they got to the island that next Tuesday.

Tropical shipping is also frequently used by students. It does take longer since your things are sent on a freight ship (boat), but it is less expensive.

UPS, DHL, FedEx, and USPS also work but are much more expensive for large boxes.
