If it has to do with more students interested in taking the USMLE and going to the USA rather than the UK after the GMC aanounced that it was limiting registration to non-EU medical grads. It is hard to believe their statement concerning "low demand"

....."A spokeswoman for the GMC, which also officially registers doctors licensed to practice in the UK, confirmed to TOI on Friday that the exam had been cancelled in all locations outside the UK. The GMC claimed the decision was taken because of "low demand"."
