I am trying to find more info about Grenada. Is it a tourist destination? Where would students go to blow off some steam after a big test? Is it convenient to shop and find food around school? What kind of entertainments do they have on the island? would it help to have a car? I understand we are going to Grenada to study, but I am just trying to learn more about life at Grenada, so it won't be too shocking for me when I come to the Island.

I highly recommend perusing the forum. A lot of these questions have been answered ad nauseum and in-depth.
Just to get you started...
- Yes, it is a tourist destination, although it seems more for tourists from the UK/Germany or for yacht folks rather than from the states.
- There are a few clubs you can go to and the school/student body throws parties after exams. If you're not a dancing/bar folk, there are beaches, hikes, sailing, SCUBA, snorkelling, island hopping, and more.
- No major stores right next to the main True Blue campus but all the necessities are available at Grand Anse, which is connected to True Blue via buses provided by the school.
- A car makes it easier to move about but not necessary because, as mentioned earlier, the school provides bussing. The only time that a car would be considered a necessity is if you live any distance "too far" from the bus route (2 bus routes: 1 between True Blue and Grand Anse and 1 between True Blue and Lance Aux Epines).
If you want to learn more about life in Grenada, do a search on the 'net and peruse the older posts of this forum. In the end, the best way to learn about Grenada is to experience Grenada first-hand and you can compose your own opinions. ;)
