Just felonies
They aren't going to run a background check on you anyways, and they certainly aren't going to check your criminal record in all 50 states on a whim. And misdemeanors usually won't show up on that stuff, unless you look specifically in a single municipality.
Anyways, they had a teacher here who it was later learned had served time in a federal pen, so it's obvious they don't go to great lengths to screen anybody.

Islands are a good place to be on the lam..time honored tradition of it..ha ha...goes back to the pirate days. Let's see...one of the carib schools has a prof that had his license pulled for sexual abuse allegedly

I'm not at all surprised, mind you, but it is interesting.... would you care to divulge that info privately to me?
I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours.... oops.
No pun intended.

Well, it just depends on the policy with the school. I would CHECK WITH AUC ADMISSIONS. Don't ask here. The main thing is to be honest about your situation that you had. Explain it in detail with your admissions advisor. If he/she decides that you should include that in your cover letter I would include it as a whole separate letter. I know that AUC with ask for a police report so you should ask and if I was you I would go ahead and plan on including a letter about it. THE MAIN THING IS TO BE HONEST AND JUST TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED.
I am a part time Deputy and a part time police officer, I split my time b/w the two agencies, works out nice. From what I have learned in the past is that HONESTY is the BEST policy. In law enforcement we do background investigations that are VERY extensive for people who apply to the department. I always appreciate it when some one just comes out and tells me; "Hey, I had this situation." Not to say that they will get hired, because if you have any conviction, misder or felony, you won't make it, but it is nice to see HONESTY. Plus, out on the road I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO LIE TO ME, IT INSULTS MY INTELLIGENCE AND I WON'T BE VERY NICE TO THOSE PEOPLE (as far as breaks are concerned).
The point is, just ask the MEIO and see what they say. I am guessing that you WILL NOT HAVE A PROBLEM getting in with that on your record. JUST DON'T DO IT AGAIN.
One other thing, as I have seen many times, DRINKING IN MODERATION is the best POLICY. Good luck.

A question worth asking is: Will a misdemenor such as this keep one from getting a medical license? I know that they ask you to report any arrests on the state licensing apps...whether it's on your record or not.

While I agree that honesty is the best policy, and you should never lie about, you have to realize that AUC only asks about FELONY convictions. Since this is a misdemeanor, it doesn't matter. Also, your police report is from your hometown, and this incident occurred in another state, so it will not show up.
It is a minor thing, has no bearing, and even mentioning it can only cause misunderstandings. My advice is not to bring it up. However, since MEIO reads these boards, and such a big deal has been made of it, they now already know.
Good luck.
