Just wondering what stats did you all get accepted with? I got rejected with a 3.0 science gpa and 3.1 overall...good LOR and plenty of extracirricular and volunteer work.....now Im waiting on MUA and hoping they're class isnt full for Sept 06....any feedback is appreciated...

The september class is supposed to be the most competitive of all due to greater volume of applicants...If you apply to start in Jan or May, you'll have a better shot.
Not sure if you want to reapply -- definitely a good idea if you want Cali..

Usually if an applicant is found suitable but September is too competitive (or full), they offer January or May acceptance instead. Saba is becoming better known. I am unsure of what their criteria for acceptance is now but I wonder if they simply decided you weren't right for Saba based on your personal statement?
There have been a few that have not made it past the interview process. It must be hard. Did they give any indication why they said no?
Best of luck in the future.

3.55 undergrad and masters. (I did my MA at a medical school and actually took all med school classes along with first year med students, so I think that helped)
also intense research and volunteer experience
accepted for Fall 06
I was lucky to get in to the Fall class, too. When I interviewed (in June), they only had a few spots open for the Fall class. And, when I was interviewed I was basically grilled on the chance that I would accept if I were offered admission.

BTW: Keep trying. I think your stats are good for most Caribbean schools. Lots of luck to you!
and FYI: My sister went to St. Eustatia and she really liked it there. She is now doing her clinical rotations in CO. But - I am sure you can learn a lot more from other posters on this forum.

Call them and ask them straight up. Esp if you seriously considered Saba...maybe they need to know that.

there must be a solid reason as to why a 3.8GPA can't get into US schools. didn't even bother asking ...

its worth asking because there must be a spectacular reason behind this. i refuse to believe that with a 3.93, you cant get into a U.S. school as long as you did not eff up your MCAT that bad. volunteering and research stuff is all secondary.
so, 'chicago', if you dont mind, then please do share your story - and why are you so keen on coming to SABA when you are pretty much sitting on a golden ticket as far as admissions to U.S. schools are concerned?

Hello Everyone.......
I never applied to U.S. med schools because I am graduating in December2007, that means I have to wait till September 2008 to start (that's if I get in), therefore, I applied for Jan 2008 to SABA and Ross and got accepted to both but chose SABA. Hope to see all of you there.
