Hey guys.
I have a somewhat silly question about laptops. I was just wondering if most students bring their laptops to class? If so, should I get a bag that can hold my laptop and a few texts/notebooks/etc. Any recommendations?
Thanks so much!

Yes.
BTW, I'd suggest bringing a spare AC power supply and cord - if it breaks, you're hurting for at least a couple of weeks until a new one gets here.

DSL is available. I get 128/64 for $85 a month, with a local phone. The library has wireless available after 4PM (it's the bandwidth the office normally uses) too.
You can get faster DSL for $130, I think its 256/128

Well you do need to bring your laptop everyday to school, and the best way is to get a small case that perfectly fits your lap top and can also fit in your school bag. If you like to study at home then there is no need to bring your books, you will have not time to read them b/w classes, just bring your laptop, a note book to write on and your lunch, etc. if you like to study at library then you need to carry your books with you (most of the time the class powerpoints keep you busy). Extra power cord do help, but then your laptop can break too, in our class we had more problems with lap top breaking due to moisture or just by falling. i carried my old lap top with me and it helped quiet a few students at saba.
hope this helped,

Just how does one tap into this wireless after 4pm? (Don't have any experience with laptops...please break it down for me...) Thanks!

Assuming you have a wifi enabled computer, you turn it on, and connect to the wireless network.
Then, do whatever you'd normally do on the internet.
With Win XP or Mac OS-X it's not at all hard

Wonderful...in the past, trying to connect to the wireless network in my house was a time consuming pain...with all sorts of passwords, phone calls to the router provider, etc.
Thanks for your help!

oh a related question I think, if someone can help me here.
I have an Apple laptop and so Mac OSX. I assume most of the people use Windows, so is there a problem using Macs? I mean with compatibility issues and all? Are there other Mac users?
and seriously guys, thanks for all the information everyone's been giving.

As long as you have the white plastic computer (mac) version of Word and Powerpoint you'll be fine
