Need help again.. Cardiomyopathy

Hey guys,
Just wondering if I can get some help again. I been reading on Hypertrophic cardiomyopathies and my question is if this disease causes systolic or diastolic dysfuction or both? Does the diastolic dysfuction percipates mitral stenosis (filling defect?) Also if there is a filling defect, why is the EDP still high? Anyone? DDD? plz help thx.

EDP is high due to the increased pressure of the ventricle caused by the hypertrophy

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy :
-it predominantly involves the interventricular septum
-subaortic obstruction : the murmur is decreased when squatting ( incr. venous return; incr size of the chamber ;decr. subaortic obstruct., decr murmur ) and is increased during Valsalva ( decr venous return, etc)
-diastolic dysfunction , systolic fuction is preserved ; EF is ok.
